How do you sum up a person's life experiences in a few paragraphs? I'll skip the part about where I was born and save us both from reliving my childhood!

My life began the day my daughter died in a car accident. This is not to say that I didn't have a very full and happy life before this night, because I did. My husband, Tony, and my twin girls, Elizabeth and Cassandra, enriched my life with love and support—and this has not changed. The nature of my life before Elizabeth's transition is somewhat foggy now, as I'm not the same person I was. To be honest, I can't really remember who I used to be. So much has changed, mainly my perspective on my life and the world in general.

I am currently writing a book about my story, and although it is hard to go back to the days when my grief over losing Elizabeth was strong, I feel it's important to "tell my story." So many miracles have happened since then. A big influence on my life is Elizabeth's unwavering love for me and her continued support through our ability to communicate with each other. Communicating with her never ceases to amaze me! How wonderful to know that she lives and is happy!

How did this happen? Well, my husband and I started meditating regularly a few months after her transition. We learned through circles and development classes how to recognize the ways in which spirit communicates with us. Our learning has continued to evolve over the years. Tony now specializes in mediumship readings, and I, having a deep soul desire to teach others, founded the School of Miracles in order to provide a venue for others to learn. We did not possess these abilities before. Our abilities to see, feel, hear and know spirit has developed since we first wanted to communicate with our daughter.

Over the years, I have seen my students blossom as they learn to communicate with spirit and receive guidance on how they can be of service in the world. Gaining a deeper understanding of their true self, they begin to recognize themselves as limitless in ways they had never before experienced.

Communication is not limited to talking with your loved ones in spirit. We are also able to access the guidance and wisdom of Guides, Masters and other beings of light. Early on in my journey, I saw many images of a lion guide who offers his wisdom and reminds me that I possess the inner strength and courage I need to continue on this personal journey of healing. Losing a child is extremely difficult, and it touches all aspects of your life, past, present and future. But I now know that Elizabeth gave me the highest gift possible—her love. Through her choice to leave her earthly life early, she provides an opportunity to learn how spirit communicates with us, not only for me but also for many others. She is regularly seen in my classes as she helps me to teach and students to learn.

Bringing through knowledge and wisdom from spirit is something I love to do. This has naturally progressed into a desire to learn to channel. The Council first came to me a couple of years ago. Since then I have felt a deeper layer of trust and surrender, as I set my own desires aside and let their words be spoken.

Communicating with spirit is not a special gift or talent. We all possess these abilities. It is up to the individual if you wish to develop this area of your life. Working with spirit is a collaboration. Working together with the help of loved ones, guides and higher light beings makes what may initially seem impossible, possible.

My deepest desire is for everyone to know that there is no death, only new doors to enter. If we all learn that we are eternal, that our lives matter, that we can help make the lives of those around us better and, ultimately, that there is a grand purpose in motion, perhaps we can experience peace here, and throughout, the universe.
